Glamping sleepovers blend the joy of camping with the comfort of home in a unique setup.

Rental services manage the details, allowing parents to create unforgettable celebrations without the additional stress.

With some thoughtful decisions, families can also craft a memorable glamping night at home without overspending.

The trend of transforming traditional camping into a luxe experience is taking family travel by storm. Glamping offers a delightful twist, merging the beauty of the outdoors with modern comforts. Slumber parties now have their own glamping flair.

In essence, a glamping sleepover is the delightful combination of slumber festivities and artsy fort-building, enveloped in luxury. Picture tiny tents for each child, personalized items, plush bedding, and twinkling fairy lights for ambiance.

The most heartwarming aspect of this trend? An increasing number of rental companies are emerging, making it simpler for parents to pull off a dream celebration without scouring local shops for supplies.

What a Glamping Sleepover Involves and Why Kids Adore Them

Glamping sleepovers take the nostalgic charm of traditional gatherings and enhance it with a chic modern twist, according to Virginia Frischkorn, founder of Partytrick and an accomplished event planner with over 15 years of expertise. Rather than simple sleeping bags, glampers enjoy a luxurious setup that includes:

  • Individual A-frame or cone-shaped tents
  • Soft mattresses and cozy bedding
  • Twinkle lights and lanterns
  • Coordinated décor based on a chosen theme
  • Optional add-on experiences such as spa activities, crafts, or picnics

These sleepovers have become a favored birthday celebration choice for children ages 6 to 13. Lately, Frischkorn has noticed a trend of parents organizing such events during long weekends or to commemorate the end of summer as kids prepare to head back to school.

So, what makes these experiences truly special for the kids? “The decor, the tents, and individual ‘pods’ resonate with them,” Frischkorn remarks. “It offers them a sense of autonomy and a special corner for their belongings for the night. As a mom of a 9-year-old, I see how much she cherishes these types of parties, as her friends are nearby while she has her personal space.”

How Rental Companies Are Elevating the Glamping Experience

Sleepover rental services offer a seamless solution, allowing you to relax while they orchestrate the magic, says Tara Conigliaro, owner of The Glamping Party Company, an event planning firm in Long Island, New York. It’s all about the ease that comes with having professionals manage all aspects of the setup.

Though sleepovers have long been cherished, the trend of hosting professionally styled events with themes and tent setups emerged around the mid-2010s. “This movement originated in Australia and the U.K., rapidly gaining traction in the U.S. as platforms like Pinterest and Instagram popularized curated celebrations,” shares Conigliaro. “From 2018 to 2021, the sector experienced significant growth.”

Today, numerous sleepover rental companies have established themselves in the event industry, providing glamping adventures, spa parties, luxury picnics, and much more. “They’re ideal for families seeking memorable and magical at-home celebrations without the burden of DIY setups,” Conigliaro adds.

However, hiring a professional for a glamping sleepover can be pricey, especially for larger gatherings. For instance, with The Glamping Party Company, four tent setups initiate at $380, with an additional $80 for each extra tent. Delivery fees and costs for additional items may also apply.

Essential Tips for Selecting a Sleepover Party Rental Service

When deciding to invite professionals to craft a glamping sleepover, Frischkorn recommends choosing a company that prioritizes cleanliness, safety, and top-notch materials. Make sure to ask the following questions:

  • What themes do you offer?
  • What features are included?
  • How long does the party setup take?
  • What is the process of dismantling the party setup?

Ideas for DIY Glamping Sleepovers on a Budget

Planning a party without incurring extra costs? You’re in luck. “An enchanting glamping experience is feasible even on a budget,” Conigliaro insists. “Creating the right atmosphere holds more significance than the expense, and small touches make a huge impact.”

Here are some guidelines to help you curate a budget-conscious glamping sleepover, as advised by experts.

Keep the Theme Simple and Limit the Guest List

To reduce expenditure and coordination, Conigliaro suggests using two to three color schemes for your party theme instead of an elaborate setup. Keeping the guest list intimate also can help trim costs, she notes.

Shop Wisely and Maximize Existing Resources

Affordable pop-up tents can be found on sites like Amazon, and utilizing bedding and pillows you already own significantly cuts costs. Pro tip: Dollar Tree and Target are great places to scout for baskets, lanterns, and cute décor items, Conigliaro points out.

Incorporate Simple but Impactful Elements

“String lights provide a low-cost yet significant visual impact,” Frischkorn shares. You can also create a memorable moment with balloons, a movie projector, or starry lights. “The aim isn’t flawless execution but about creating charming spaces that are different and exciting,” she concludes.
